Dear Daniel,

Thank you for your question. In a word, yes!

While we often think of Cal-Mag as a supplement for plants growing in coco coir, it can also benefit plants growing in outdoor soil. Calcium and magnesium play important roles in the soil-plant relationship. These elements are not only essential to the complex biochemistry of plant growth, but their presence in the soil in adequate amounts creates the ideal medium for aggressive plant root development and plant growth.

Calcium and magnesium are safe in soil in the correct ratios. Adding 2–3 mL per gallon during every feeding increases photosynthesis and plant cell division. Adding Cal-Mag to the nutrient solution also supports crop immune systems, which in turn helps plants resist disease.

If you have any other questions about our products or about growing in general, please feel free to reach out to us.

Best,

Dr R. Sharma
